Cairo University and UNISSA Discuss Strengthened Academic and Research Ties

Cairo: President of Cairo University Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek emphasized the university's influential role in disseminating knowledge and fostering academic dialogue across cultures during a meeting with President of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) in Brunei Darussalam, Haji Noor Irfan bin Haji Zainal, and his delegation. The discussions centered on enhancing academic and research collaboration between the two institutions and facilitating faculty exchanges.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting addressed ways to reinforce cooperation in Arabic language, Islamic studies, and agricultural sciences, alongside reviewing the renewal of their joint cooperation agreement. This agreement allows Bruneian students to enroll in the third year at the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, highlighting Cairo University's commitment to academic and linguistic outreach both regionally and internationally.

Abdel-Sadek pointed out the progress Cairo University has achieved in global competitiveness, academic program development, scientific research support, international publishing, digital transformation, and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies. He also stressed the importance of strengthening institutional governance, administrative development, community service, and sustainable development. Abdel-Sadek expressed a desire to fortify cooperative ties with Asian universities, particularly those in Brunei Darussalam, to aid in development efforts and the exchange of academic and research expertise.

Haji Noor Irfan bin Haji Zainal conveyed his satisfaction with visiting Cairo University and expressed a strong interest in expanding joint cooperation, especially in Arabic language, Islamic studies, agriculture, and faculty exchange programs.
