Cairo: Cairo is set to host the 52nd Arab Labour Conference from September 13 to 20, bringing together representatives from governments, employers, and workers across the Arab region. Labour Minister Hassan Raddad announced the event on Saturday, August 29, 2026, highlighting its significance in addressing pressing labour issues.According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference will be chaired by Egypt and will focus on employment, job creation, social protection, and other labour-related challenges faced by Arab countries. As the current chair of the board of directors of the Arab Labour Organization (ALO), Egypt is playing a pivotal role in facilitating this important regional event.The conference will gather the three main stakeholders in the labour market-governments, employers, and workers-to discuss regional cooperation and common labour challenges. Minister Raddad emphasized Egypt's commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration among these parties to enhance labour conditions across the region.Additionally, Raddad highlighted Egypt's efforts in supporting its workers abroad through labour representation offices established in several Arab countries. These offices aim to protect the rights of Egyptian workers and assist them with employment-related matters, further strengthening Egypt's role in the regional labour landscape.
