Cabinet Refutes Rumors of Internet Service Suspension During Nighttime

Cairo: The Cabinet’s media center has officially dispelled rumors about government plans to halt internet services during nighttime hours as part of electricity load-shedding measures.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Cabinet’s media center, in consultation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), clarified that no official decisions have been made regarding internet service suspension, nor are there any ongoing studies or intentions to cut internet access to conserve energy.

Officials emphasized that telecommunications and internet services continue to operate fully and efficiently across all governorates. The public was reassured that connectivity remains unaffected by the national electricity rationalization measures currently in place in response to ongoing regional and international developments.

The NTRA further explained that Egypt’s digital infrastructure is managed through precise technical and operational frameworks. These frameworks are designed to guarantee service continuity, ensure uninterrupted internet access 24/7, maintain high speeds and stability, and involve strategic coordination with service providers to protect user interests.

The Ministry and the NTRA urged social media users to verify information through official channels before disseminating news that could lead to public confusion. The NTRA concluded by asserting its right to pursue legal action against the spread of false information intended to disrupt public order.
