Cairo: The Ministry of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) continued its efforts to renovate houses of worship by inaugurating 21 mosques Friday. The openings include one new construction, 15 renovated and rebuilt mosques, and five that underwent maintenance and upgrades.
According to State Information Service Egypt, since July 1, 2025, the ministry has inaugurated a total of 434 mosques. Since July 2014, the total number of mosques renovated, restored, or maintained has reached 13,923, at a total cost of approximately LE 24.66 billion.
