Cairo: Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny congratulated EgyptAir leadership and staff after the national carrier won the "World's Most Improved Airline" award for 2026 from Skytrax. In a statement, the Minister attributed this achievement to ongoing modernization efforts aligned with presidential directives to boost the national carrier's capabilities and global competitiveness.

According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Hefny applauded the collective dedication of all EgyptAir employees, which contributed to the company's promotion of international standing and service quality. EgyptAir advanced to 46th globally, entering the top 50 airlines worldwide, and securing top African rankings, including first place for Best Cabin Crew in Africa-ranking 20th globally in the same category-and best airline in the African Economy Class category. The company ended up second overall among African carriers.

Hefny said entering the top 50 global ranking marks a milestone that increases the carrier's responsibility to continue investing in human resources, technology, and service standards. He reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to ongoing development strategies to boost Egypt's position as a regional and global aviation hub.
