Assistant FM Discusses Strategic Cooperation with UNIDO’s Regional Representative

Cairo: Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Department of International Development Cooperation Khaled Anis engaged in discussions with Patrick Jean, the Representative of the Regional Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), focusing on key cooperation files with the organization.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting aimed to strengthen the strategic partnership between UN agencies and organizations in Egypt. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation between UNIDO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This comes in light of UNIDO's significant role in Egypt's development landscape and the potential to mobilize financing for inclusive industrial development, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Country Partnership Program between Egypt and UNIDO.

Anis emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following ministerial directives, is committed to supporting development projects in Egypt according to national priorities, especially those that bolster the most productive sectors. This effort is directed towards enhancing the competitiveness and export capacity of Egyptian products.

The UNIDO representative expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the organization's project portfolio in Egypt, which includes areas such as energy efficiency, promotion of green growth, support for the green transition in major industrial companies, and export development.
