Cairo: Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of State Information Service (SIS), received Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Omara, Chairman of The Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN). The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Fares and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Lotfy, Vice Chairmen of ETQAAN, and Dr. Iman Ibrahim, Director of SIS Chairman Office. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation to promote ETQAAN's mandates and achievements, spread a culture of quality and accreditation, and leverage the resources of SIS and its media centers spreading across all governorates to support this direction.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Alaa Youssef emphasized that SIS pays great attention to human development and youth capacity building, including the development of the technical, technological, and vocational education and training system. This system is seen as a primary pathway to preparing and qualifying youth for the labor market. Ambassador Youssef praised ETQAAN's national role in ensuring quality and accrediting for technical, technological, and vocational education and training institutions and programs.
He highlighted SIS's readiness to cooperate in preparing and publishing promotional materials in foreign languages regarding ETQAAN's efforts to build a national quality and accreditation system. This cooperation aims to highlight these efforts to foreign media and international correspondents in Egypt, thereby strengthening ETQAAN's regional and international presence.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Omara reviewed ETQAAN's key efforts, including developing national standards for accrediting technical, technological, and vocational education and training institutions and programs aligned with international standards and specifications. He also outlined the conditions and procedures for applying for accreditation and setting a national framework of quality performance indicators for the system.
He addressed ETQAAN's efforts to spread a culture of quality and accreditation and support educational and training institutions in implementing quality systems and continuous improvement. He emphasized the importance of cooperating with SIS to introduce ETQAAN's mandates and showcase its achievements in quality assurance and accreditation.
