Alexandria: Alexandria Port Authority received the cruise ship Crystal Serenity on its final stop in Egypt as part of an international voyage organized by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), traversing Egyptian cities and the Suez Canal under the theme “Leadership Voyage for Global Tourism Leaders.”

According to State Information Service Egypt, the event, hosted by Egypt with international partners, aims to accelerate global tourism recovery and support sustainable growth through enhanced coordination between governments and the private sector. The vessel carried 202 influential figures, including Egyptian ministers, international diplomats, the WTTC chairman, and senior executives from leading global tourism companies.

This voyage reflects high-level coordination and growing international confidence in Egypt’s tourism sector and its capacity to host major global events despite current geopolitical conditions. Alexandria Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Ehab Salah welcomed the delegation, confirming the port’s readiness for high-level international cruises following significant infrastructure and operational developments.

The terminal covers 34,000 square meters with a capacity for 8,000 tourists and features 820-meter berths capable of receiving four large ships simultaneously. The three-story facility includes a 24-hour duty-free market, 107 shops, and several restaurants to ensure a distinguished passenger experience.

The visit underscores Alexandria Port’s vital role as a Mediterranean hub and its importance in promoting Egypt as a global tourism center.
