Al-Azhar Condemns Terrorist Bombing in Syria’s Homs

Homs: Al-Azhar strongly condemned a cowardly terrorist bombing that targeted a place of worship in the Syrian governorate of Homs during Friday prayers, resulting in the death and injury of innocent people. At least eight people were reportedly killed and 20 more injured in the attack.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement, Al-Azhar described the attack as a heinous terrorist crime and a blatant assault on the sanctity of human life. The statement emphasized the violation of the sanctity and holiness of places of worship, highlighting the perpetrators' disregard for the values of religion, humanity, and ethics.

The statement further criticized the attackers for their blatant disrespect for human life and labeled them as threats to the security and stability of communities. Al-Azhar expressed condolences to the noble Syrian people and called for unity among all Syrians, regardless of their sect or denomination.

Al-Azhar urged Syrians to stand together against what it referred to as a malicious plot aimed at undermining the country's security, spreading chaos, and creating divisions among the population.
