Cairo: Air Cairo announced on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the launch of direct daily flights between Cairo and the Greek capital, Athens, starting July 24. This initiative is part of the company's international network expansion plan.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Air Cairo will operate five weekly flights from Cairo to Athens, in addition to two weekly flights from Alexandria International Airport to Athens. These new routes provide passengers with flexible and convenient travel options, enhancing connectivity between Egypt and Greece.
Air Cairo Chairman and CEO Hussein Sherif stated that the introduction of the Athens route aligns with the company's strategy to expand in European markets, particularly those with longstanding historical ties to Egypt. The inclusion of Athens in Air Cairo's destination network underscores the company's commitment to offering high-quality air transport services, combining operational efficiency with competitive fares. This move is expected to enhance the travel experience and support Egypt's position as a key regional hub for aviation and tourism.
