Cairo: Egypt’s national gymnastics team delivered a strong performance at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup ‘Cairo 2026,’ with four Egyptian players securing places in the finals of the championship that kicked off Friday at Cairo Stadium and runs till Monday.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in the men’s competition, Omar El Araby advanced to the rings finals after finishing fourth in the qualification round with a score of 13.933. Ali Abdel Kader also qualified for the same apparatus final, placing sixth with 13.533 points. Meanwhile, Omar El Shobky secured his place in the pommel horse final, ranking eighth in the qualifiers with a score of 14.133.
On the women’s side, Judy Abdullah qualified for the vault final after finishing eighth in the preliminary round with a score of 13.100 points. Egypt’s squad includes, in the men’s category: Omar El Araby, Mohamed Montasser, Mostafa Ahmed, Yehia Zakaria, Omar El Shobky, and Ali Abdel Kader. The women’s team features Jana Hany, Jana Abdel Salam, Judy Abdullah, and Cyrine Abou El Hoda.
The Egyptian Gymnastics Federation announced that the event is hosting 128 male and female athletes representing 33 countries, including Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Spain, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Norway, New Zealand, Panama, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, India, Cameroon, and Egypt.
