Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil recently held a significant meeting with prominent Russian sports figures, including Alexander Vinokurov, President of the Russian Weightlifting Federation and head of the Marathon Investment Group, as well as Marat Filippov, Secretary-General of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport and Deputy President of the Russian Olympic Committee. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Yassin Mansour.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on enhancing sporting cooperation between Egypt and Russia, with particular emphasis on developing joint projects in the fields of sport and youth. The meeting explored ways to leverage Russia's extensive expertise, aiming to expand collaboration in sports such as weightlifting, gymnastics, and the organization of marathons.

The parties involved in the discussions have agreed to facilitate the exchange of training camps between the two countries, covering various sporting disciplines. Additionally, there is a mutual interest in utilizing Russian training methodologies to improve the skills of Egyptian coaches in sports where Russia has a strong track record.
