Cairo: Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy met with South Sinai Governor Ismail Kamal to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation to support the tourism sector and increase inbound tourist traffic to the governorate.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on reviewing proposals to boost tourism in South Sinai. The discussions emphasized improving tourist services to enhance the competitiveness of Egypt's tourist destinations and encourage investment in the sector.
Fathy expressed the ministry's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the governorate to support the tourism industry and eliminate any obstacles, particularly in Sharm El-Sheikh. The region offers various tourism assets that can attract different visitor segments, including beach, cultural, and spiritual tourism, as well as conference and shopping tourism, in addition to specialized activities such as birdwatching.
The meeting marked the beginning of Minister Fathy's visit to the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh.
