Cairo: Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy asserted that enhancing the quality of the tourism experience remains a top priority for the Egyptian state, emphasizing that the ministry is implementing an ambitious vision aimed at positioning Egypt as 'the most diverse tourism destination in the world.'

According to State Information Service Egypt, the remarks were made during a seminar hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt), where the minister participated as a guest of honor and keynote speaker. The event was attended by senior representatives from the chamber as well as officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Fathy stated that the gathering provided an important platform to highlight the latest developments in Egypt's tourism and antiquities sectors, along with recent indicators of inbound tourism growth. He stressed that Egypt's competitive advantage extends beyond the sheer diversity of its tourism offerings.

He noted that the country's ability to seamlessly connect multiple tourism experiences within a single journey is crucial, allowing visitors to move easily between cultural, coastal, desert, and leisure destinations while enjoying a rich and integrated travel experience.

The minister explained that the ministry's strategy is centered on achieving sustainable economic and tourism development while safeguarding Egypt's cultural heritage. Key priorities include strengthening tourism investment competitiveness, diversifying tourism products, developing human capital, enhancing governance and monitoring mechanisms, improving visitor experiences, supporting sustainability initiatives, accelerating digital and environmental transformation, and implementing effective tourism marketing policies.

Fathy underscored that Egypt is a year-round destination capable of catering to a wide range of traveler interests and preferences. He emphasized that visitor safety, security, and overall satisfaction remain at the forefront of the country's tourism agenda, alongside preserving the authenticity that defines the Egyptian travel experience.

Fathy emphasized the importance of maintaining a comprehensive year-round calendar of events and activities to attract diverse visitor segments and strengthen Egypt's appeal as a dynamic tourism destination.
