Cairo: The Time Out magazine ranked Cairo among the world’s top 50 cities to visit in 2026, according to its annual report based on a survey of more than 24,000 residents across 150 global cities, in addition to evaluations by urban experts and specialists.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the report highlighted Cairo’s rich historical heritage, citing the famous words of Herodotus, who described Egypt as ‘the gift of the Nile.’ It portrayed the Egyptian capital as a vibrant and enchanting city, offering a unique destination that reflects the grandeur of ancient civilization.
The report also spotlighted the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), asserting its remarkable collection of rare antiquities and its prime location near the Giza Pyramids. It noted significant improvements in the visitor experience, particularly with the introduction of modern electric buses that facilitate easy movement between the three pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza.
