Cairo: Telecom Egypt has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Grova Developments, a subsidiary of the Hassan Allam Holding Group, to offer advanced integrated telecommunications solutions and smart city services. This collaboration aims to bolster Telecom Egypt's strategy to extend digital infrastructure support within new urban locales and enhance their digital transformation readiness.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement entails Telecom Egypt's commitment to developing and setting up the telecommunications network infrastructure throughout the project utilizing advanced Fiber-to-the-Room (FTTR) technology. Additionally, the company plans to employ XGPON technology to deliver ultra-high-speed internet services. They will also offer Triple Play services, which encompass high-speed internet, fixed-line telephony, and IPTV digital television services.
Beyond these services, Telecom Egypt is set to provide advanced digital solutions and services such as Home Automation, a Community Mobile App, Public Wi-Fi, and other state-of-the-art digital technologies. Telecom Egypt's Managing Director and CEO, Tamer el Mahdy, emphasized that this partnership is a significant step in the company's mission to support digital transformation and develop smart infrastructure for modern urban communities across Egypt. He highlighted the company's continuous efforts to utilize its investments and extensive expertise in building Egypt's largest fiber-optic network, delivering added value to real estate developers, and facilitating their access to the latest telecommunications and smart city services.
In reflection of the partnership, Grova Developments CEO Sherif Sadek remarked on the company's vision of creating integrated communities rooted in quality, sustainability, and long-term value to fulfill future generations' aspirations.
