Streets Adorned to Welcome World Leaders in Preparation for GEM Opening

Cairo: A few hours before the biggest cultural event in Egypt's modern history, the streets of Cairo and Giza turned into a real beehive of activity in preparation for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), eagerly awaited by the world for two decades.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the scene along the road leading to the museum reflects a spirit of organization and precision, with small details highlighting the grandeur of the occasion and the state's determination to make the opening an event befitting Egypt's history and present.

Along the road to the museum, massive billboards featuring images of pharaohs and ancient Egyptian kings lined up, telling passersby the story of an immortal civilization. The designs of the billboards combined pharaonic elements with a modern touch, showcasing how the genius of the past meets the innovation of the present in a majestic visual display.

Flags from dozens of countries participating in the opening ceremony fluttered along the roadsides, conveying a symbolic message that Egypt is opening its doors to the world. The diverse colors of the flags formed an artistic tableau, underscoring the event's international character and affirming the museum's role as a global cultural bridge.

From an organizational perspective, an unprecedentedly smooth traffic flow prevailed, thanks to the deployment of traffic officers along the roads leading to the museum. Special lanes were designated for official delegations and journalists, while checkpoints and security services were spread out to ensure the area was fully secured with remarkable calm and discipline.

Clear directional signs in both Arabic and English were placed to guide visitors to parking areas, designated entrances, and reception points. What stood out was that every detail was designed with ease of movement and quick access in mind, in harmony that reflected the precision of the preparations and planning.

Around the museum, an atmosphere of order and anticipation prevailed, as guests were organized and directed to electronic entry and inspection systems, and delegations were received with high precision. The organizing teams and public relations staff worked in full harmony to ensure a smooth experience for every guest, while cameras and lighting were busy with final preparations for the big event.

All these arrangements made the hours leading up to the opening a spectacle, titled "Preparation for Greatness." The Grand Egyptian Museum has become not just an archaeological project, but a symbol of Egypt's ability to organize a global event on a scale that matches its history, presented in a manner worthy of its modern cultural perspective.
