Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated the Egypt men's national handball team after winning the African Men's Handball Championship for the 10th time in the team's history and for the fourth consecutive edition.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in a post on his official Facebook page, the President remarked that the achievement reflects determination and perseverance and confirms Egypt's standing among the continent's and the world's leading handball nations. He also expressed pride in the team and wished them continued success in the future.
It is noteworthy that Egypt's men's national handball team defeated Tunisia 37-24 to win the African Men's Handball Championship. With this win, Egypt drew level with Tunisia as the most successful nations in the competition, each with 10 titles. It was Egypt's sixth African title won at Tunisia's expense, alongside three victories over Algeria and one over Cape Verde. Cape Verde finished third after beating Algeria 29-23.
