Cairo: Young Egyptian athlete Omar Ayman El-Shabrawy clinched the gold medal in the 46-kg category at the Egyptian Judo Championship for under-8 and under-9 age groups.According to State Information Service Egypt, the tournament, held in Cairo from April 30 to May 2, featured participation from 77 clubs and around 1,600 male and female players. President of the Egyptian Judo Federation Mohamed Motei stated that the event aims to discover and develop young talents, building a new generation capable of representing Egypt in future competitions.He congratulated El-Shabrawy on his achievement, noting that the championship plays a key role in expanding the sport's base and enhancing competitiveness among young athletes nationwide. The federation stressed that such events are essential for qualifying promising players and preparing them for participation in continental and international tournaments.
