Cairo: Speaker of the Senate Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq announced that the Council will convene in its current formation on the date set by presidential decree to complete the first legislative term, which constitutionally ends on October 17. Abdel Razeq's statement followed the issuance of Decree No. 552 of 2025 by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the decree calls for the Senate to convene on Thursday at 11 a.m. for the opening of the sixth ordinary session of the first legislative term. The decree outlines the necessity for the Council to fulfill its legislative duties within the stipulated timeframe.
