SCZONE Inks $14-Million Deal for Turkish Manufacturing Investment

Cairo: Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Walid Gamal El-Din witnessed the signing of an agreement with Turkey's Ukinox Manufacturing Company to establish a $14 million factory in Sokhna Industrial Zone, further expanding the area's engineering industries and export-oriented manufacturing base.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the signing ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the SCZONE's headquarters in the New Capital. The project will be developed on a 37,000-square-meter site within the Main Development Company (MDC) industrial zone and is expected to create 220 direct jobs.

Production is scheduled to begin in mid-2028, with an annual capacity of 1.2 million stainless steel kitchen sinks targeting both domestic and export markets.

Gamal El-Din stated that the investment underscores Sokhna's growing appeal as a regional manufacturing hub, citing its integrated infrastructure and proximity to Sokhna Port. He mentioned that the project supports Egypt's strategy to localize advanced industries, deepen local manufacturing, strengthen supply chains, and boost exports through the SCZone's strategic logistics platform.
