SCZone Chief Oversees Signing of $11M Al-Ata Group Project Contract


Cairo: Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El Din attended the signing ceremony for the Al-Ata Group food and mining project contract in the Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the project is under the jurisdiction of the industrial developer, Main Development Company (MDC), which is an arm of the SCZone. The facility will cover an area of 17,000 square meters and is backed by Egyptian investments totaling USD 11 million.



The project is expected to create around 30 direct job opportunities and aims to commence production in 2027. It will have a production capacity of up to 10,000 tons annually of packaged grains, alongside activities in the processing and trading of metals and precious stones.



The contract was signed by Walid Youssef, Managing Director of Main Development Company, and Fatima Ibrahim El-Mahdi, Director and Founding Partner of the company. Gamal El-Din emphasized that the SCZone is focused on accelerating the execution of industrial projects and offering a range of facilities and support services to investors. The goal is to boost national competitiveness, localize industry, increase the utilization of local components, and enhance employment prospects.
