SCA and Japan Explore Joint Training and Marketing Efforts

Cairo: Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie met with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Fumio Iwai to discuss potential collaboration in training and marketing initiatives. The meeting, held on Thursday, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two entities.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Rabie expressed appreciation for the enduring partnership between Egypt and Japan. He stressed the economic and strategic importance of the Suez Canal as a crucial link that fortifies relations between the two countries. Rabie noted the productive collaboration between the SCA and various Japanese organizations.

Rabie mentioned the ongoing dialogue with the Japanese Shipowners' Association and acknowledged the significant contribution of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in areas such as training and marketing. He reiterated the Suez Canal's commitment to providing continuous maritime services despite challenges in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Japanese Ambassador Fumio Iwai expressed optimism for regional stability, emphasizing its impact on global supply chains. He reiterated Japan's acknowledgment of the Suez Canal's strategic importance in the maritime sector and expressed satisfaction with the growing collaboration between the SCA and Japanese entities.
