Cairo: Minister of the Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi met with newly appointed United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador Hamed Obaid Al Zaabi to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the industrial and investment sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Minister Shimi welcomed Ambassador Al Zaabi, wishing him success in his new role, and emphasized the deep-rooted and strong historic relations between the two countries, highlighting their continuous growth and development across various fields.
During the meeting, Minister Shimi presented an overview of the Ministry's portfolio, which includes industrial, productive, and service entities. He outlined ongoing projects and modernization programs, stressing the importance of strengthening economic cooperation to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development that benefits both nations.
The Minister also highlighted the Ministry's open approach to partnering with the private sector, both domestically and internationally, as part of efforts to support sustainable development, localize technology, and deepen local manufacturing. He pointed out the promising investment opportunities available across various sectors and reiterated Egypt's commitment to creating an attractive business environment for investors.
Ambassador Al Zaabi expressed pride in representing the UAE in Egypt, praising the close relations between the two countries. He noted Egypt's appeal as an investment destination due to its strategic advantages, including advanced infrastructure and a unique geographical location. These factors, he said, align with the interests of many UAE companies looking to enhance their presence and increase investments in the Egyptian market.
