Presidential Advisor Highlights President El-Sisi’s Push for Stronger Public-Private Healthcare Partnerships

Cairo: Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din affirmed that the government is implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to strengthen public-private partnerships in healthcare. He highlighted the pivotal role of private healthcare institutions in supporting presidential health initiatives, including the provision of comprehensive health insurance services.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Tag El-Din noted in an interview with eXtra News that President El-Sisi initiated the establishment of a comprehensive industrial complex for prosthetics and assistive devices, one of the country's major national projects. The initiative aims to provide high-quality devices for patients and people with disabilities, reduce their suffering, and localize the manufacturing of these devices in Egypt.

The project covers equipment, feasibility studies, international collaboration, and domestic production, serving millions of citizens. Tag El-Din added that Cleopatra Hospital, El Tagamou, has been developed in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and the private sector to meet tertiary care standards. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical technology and highly trained personnel, offering early disease detection, surgical services, elimination of waiting lists, partial free services, and participation in government health insurance programs, both ordinary and comprehensive.

Tag El-Din stressed that private sector institutions are essential to comprehensive health insurance, potentially providing one-third of medical service capacity, including primary care, laboratories, and radiology centers. These institutions adhere to quality and infection-control standards set by the Accreditation and Control Authority before the state benefits from these services.

He concluded that President Sisi's ongoing directives and oversight support the government's broader plan to develop the healthcare sector, expand private sector contributions, and provide high-quality medical services to meet Egypt's growing population and achieve an advanced standard of healthcare.
