President El-Sisi Signs Law Granting Pay Raises For Public Sector Workers

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has officially signed into law legislation that will implement annual salary increases for public sector employees. This new law, as reported by the official gazette, includes a 10% periodic raise for workers governed by the civil service law and a 15% special allowance for those who are not covered by the same law.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the law is set to take effect from July 1, 2025. A key feature of this legislation is the stipulation of a minimum pay increase of EGP 150 per month, which will be added to the employees' base pay. This move aims to integrate allowances into regular salary structures, ensuring a more stable and predictable income for public sector workers.

Furthermore, the law provides for increased additional incentives specifically for state workers. It also introduces a special bonus for employees working within public sector and state-owned enterprises, reflecting the government's commitment to improving the financial wellbeing of its workforce.
