Sharm el sheikh: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Monday, October 13, 2025, welcomed world leaders and heads of state participating in the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit. The summit aims to support efforts to achieve peace in the Gaza Strip, consolidate the ceasefire agreement, and facilitate the exchange of prisoners and detainees, paving the way for the second phase of reconstruction and rebuilding.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani is among the participants received by President El-Sisi. President El-Sisi also welcomed Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He further received King Hamad bin Isa of Bahrain and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, President El-Sisi welcomed former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi. King Abdullah II of Jordan and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani were also received upon their arrival to participate in the peace summit. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan were greeted by President El-Sisi as they arrived to take part in the historic international event.
