President El-Sisi Engages with Korean CEOs to Boost Economic Ties

Seoul:President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated in a roundtable meeting with CEOs of major companies and representatives of the business community during his state visit to the Republic of Korea. The meeting aimed to strengthen the economic and investment partnership between Egypt and Korea.

According to State Information Service Egypt, 23 leading Korean companies attended the meeting where President El-Sisi appreciated the role of Korean companies in Egypt's development efforts. He emphasized Egypt's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Korea, focusing on economic, investment, manufacturing, and technology sectors.

President El-Sisi highlighted the economic reforms undertaken by Egypt, including exchange-rate liberalization and modernizing investment regulations. These reforms have improved the investment climate, attracting further foreign investment. He also discussed investment incentives such as streamlined procedures, competitive industrial land, and support for workforce training.

The President proposed the creation of a Korean Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, envisioning it as a production and export hub. This initiative aims to leverage Egypt's free trade agreements and market access for regional and global reach.

El-Sisi expressed interest in partnerships in shipbuilding, automotive manufacturing, electronics, and renewable energy sectors. He also encouraged Korean companies to explore opportunities in oil, gas, and mining sectors, emphasizing cooperation in agriculture, food processing, and tourism.

The event included a dialogue with the Korean business community, who praised Egypt's efforts to improve the business climate and expressed interest in investing in Egypt. President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to facilitating investments and invited Korean companies to explore opportunities in Egypt.
