President El-Sisi Engages in Strategic Dialogue with DRC President Tshisekedi

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a significant phone call with President F©lix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, discussing the robust bilateral ties between Egypt and the DRC.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy highlighted that the conversation revolved around enhancing these relations and addressing key regional issues. President El-Sisi expressed his gratitude for the continued dialogue with President Tshisekedi and commended his participation in the Grand Egyptian Museum's inauguration, signaling a desire for a future bilateral visit to further cooperation.

President Tshisekedi acknowledged the positive trajectory of Egyptian-Congolese relations and appreciated Egypt's support across numerous sectors. The leaders also addressed the developments in eastern DRC, with President El-Sisi welcoming the Doha Comprehensive Peace Agreement between the DRC government and the Congo River Alliance/March 23 Movement.

President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's full backing of the Peace Agreement signed in Washington in December 2025, viewing it as a pivotal step towards resolving tensions in the Great Lakes region. He reiterated Egypt's willingness to assist in facilitating dialogue among involved parties to support conflict resolution efforts.

President Tshisekedi expressed gratitude for Egypt's commitment to peace and stability in the DRC and the region. Both Presidents agreed on the necessity to intensify efforts to overcome challenges to implementing peace agreements and emphasized the importance of bilateral consultations to achieve stability and development in the DRC.
