Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, where they discussed developments in the strategic bilateral relations between Egypt and Greece. The conversation highlighted their mutual interest in enhancing cooperation across various sectors such as economy, trade, investment, and energy, alongside efforts to combat illegal immigration.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the dialogue also addressed regional issues, focusing on efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve current conflicts. The discussion included Egypt's initiatives to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitate the release of hostages, and ensure the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid. President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of starting the reconstruction process in Gaza following the ceasefire and reiterated Egypt's stance against the displacement of Palestinians.

The leaders also discussed the situation in Libya, agreeing on the necessity of promoting peace and stability and advancing the political process towards a unified government and organized elections. Furthermore, the call touched on maritime border demarcation in the Eastern Mediterranean, underscoring the need for continued cooperation to foster regional development.

President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to safeguarding religious sites, including Saint Catherine's Monastery, recognizing its significant religious and historical value.
