President El-Sisi Directs Completion of Suez Canal Development Projects

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has instructed the completion of all projects related to the Suez Canal's development within established timelines, emphasizing adherence to the highest standards to ensure the quality of products and services.According to State Information Service Egypt, President El-Sisi's directives were issued during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman Osama Rabie. Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy reported that the meeting addressed the impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict on the Suez Canal.The SCA head, Osama Rabie, detailed the conflict's effects on shipping traffic and global supply chains, highlighting the urgent measures implemented by the authority. These measures include increasing readiness across all SCA sites and facilities to ensure uninterrupted navigation services.President El-Sisi stressed the importance of maintaining high preparedness levels at navigation-related work sites, monitoring safety proc edures closely, and enhancing readiness at the authority's service facilities. The meeting also reviewed progress in projects like the Red Sea Shipyard upgrade, tourist yacht manufacturing, 'Rizq' fishing vessel construction, and the deep-sea fishing fleet's operational status.Additionally, discussions covered national efforts in marine tugboat construction and the river bus manufacturing project's progress. The President was briefed on introducing digital technologies within the Suez Canal Authority, emphasizing the need for digitization to enhance governance, efficiency, and expenditure rationalization.President El-Sisi underscored the importance of collaborating with international companies and continuing efforts to localize the national industry. He highlighted the need to strengthen overseas marketing of locally-manufactured products to expand export markets.
