Cairo: Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, stated that the "Kom Maria" project had been a long-time aspiration for the people of Mallawi and has now been realized. He emphasized that the project is a significant addition to the governorate and aids in revitalizing the Holy Family Trail, which holds religious, historical, and cultural importance. His remarks came during the inauguration of the first phase of the Kom Maria project in Mallawi, Minya, a site along Egypt's Holy Family Trail. The event was attended by Minya Governor Emad Kedwani and Bishop Demetrius, Bishop of the Diocese of Mallawi and Ansina.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Pope Tawadros expressed his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for exemplifying the values of citizenship and being a president for all Egyptians.

Governor Kedwani commended the Egyptian Church's national and community role under the leadership of Pope Tawadros II, highlighting its active participation in development efforts across multiple sectors, especially healthcare. He acknowledged the support of church-affiliated institutions in enhancing the governorate's healthcare system through three significant hospitals: Misr Al-Mahabba Hospital in Beni Mazar, Al-Ragaa Hospital in Abu Qurqas, and Al-Raai Al-Saleh Hospital in Samalout. These hospitals have been accredited in preparation for integration into the Universal Health Insurance System.
