Cairo: Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark and the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church, laid the foundation stone for the Patriarchs' Cathedral in Al Fashn, Beni Suef governorate. The Pope emphasized the state's progress in development, highlighting the collaborative efforts of its institutions as each plays a role in serving the community.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Pope Tawadros II underscored the importance of love, belonging, and cooperation as fundamental elements for building nations. During his visit to Beni Suef governorate, he remarked that the new cathedral would serve not only as a place of worship but also as an institution for nurturing responsible citizens who appreciate the meaning of the homeland and the value of citizenship.

The Pope pointed out the symbolic significance of the cathedral's construction, stressing that the development of any city or society goes beyond physical infrastructure and begins with the cultivation of the individual.
