Monufia: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed the state's keenness to encourage industries and handicrafts, and to enhance marketing and promotional opportunities to support their artisans, as their products express the richness of the Egyptian civilization and heritage. The premier made the remarks at the beginning of his tour in Monufia Governorate, where he and his entourage visited the handicrafts and heritage industries exhibition in the village of Shamma in Ashmoun Center.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Monufia Governor Ibrahim Abu-Limon said that holding this exhibition aims to promote the handicraft products of the people of the villages in Monufia Governorate. The governorate is considered a distinguished stronghold of traditional industries. The premier toured the exhibition and stood on its diverse products. He engaged in a dialogue with exhibitors and praised the overall quality of the handicrafts, particularly the handmade carpets.

The artisans thanked the prime minister for the visit and asked him to boost their industries. Handmade carpet makers requested the provision of raw materials to help reduce production costs, which would assist in marketing, as well as the establishment of a permanent exhibition for their products and facilitation of marketing their products abroad. They also called for enacting a special law for the handicrafts sector. The prime minister said efforts are underway to form a Higher Council for Handicrafts and Heritage.
