Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed preparations for a World Economic Forum (WEF) business meeting that Cairo will host in November. The meeting was attended by senior executives from major international companies to discuss Egypt's economy and investment opportunities. During the talks, Madbouly said the meeting will be the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East. Unlike previous regional conferences, the event will focus exclusively on Egypt, with discussions covering the country's economic prospects, investment opportunities, and its role as a regional center for trade, logistics, and energy.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the prime minister reviewed preparations with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh. Abdelatty said that more than 50 senior executives from major international companies working with the WEF are expected to attend. He added that a number of successful Egyptian companies will also be invited, providing an opportunity for direct discussions with international business leaders and potential investors. The foreign minister noted that the proposal to hold the meeting followed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's participation in the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in January 2026.

Meanwhile, Farid stated that major investors and representatives of international investment funds will be invited to the event, which will present investment opportunities across several sectors of the Egyptian economy.

At the end of the meeting, Madbouly ordered the formation of a working group comprising representatives from the Cabinet, the foreign and investment ministries, and other authorities to oversee preparations and logistics for the November event.
