New capital: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, a number of work files at the Ministry of Housing during a meeting held at the cabinet headquarters in the New Capital. The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny, First Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and Assistant Minister of Housing Walid Abbas, and NUCA Vice Chairman for Planning and Projects Ahmed Ibrahim.

According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Sherbiny briefed the premier on the development project of the 'Alam El-Roum' area on the northwestern coast in Matrouh governorate, which is being implemented through an investment partnership between the NUCA and Qatar's Al-Diyar company. The minister reviewed the project's implementation timeline, land handover phases, and surveying works, noting that compensation has been paid for all project areas and that construction preparations are being taken as planned.

The housing minister also reviewed the implementation progress on the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital and the Downtown Towers and Lakes project in New Alamein City, underlining the need to exert efforts to accelerate completion and finalize operation and maintenance arrangements.
