PM Madbouly Highlights Global Impact of EDEX 2025 in Military and Security Industries

Cairo: Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly affirmed that Egypt Defense Expo-EDEX has gained global recognition in the field of military and security industries. The exhibition attracts a wide participation of major international companies and fosters interaction among senior military officials, government decision-makers, and companies producing weaponry systems and defense technologies from around the world. It provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and showcase the latest developments in military technology and advanced techniques.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this announcement was made during the weekly Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the New Administrative Capital, chaired by the premier. Madbouly began the meeting by referring to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's inauguration of EDEX 2025. He extended sincere greetings and appreciation to the Armed Forces for their excellent organization of this exhibition.

The premier also reviewed a meeting chaired by President El-Sisi on the details of the second tax facilitation package. The package was launched with the directives to continue developing the tax system, building new relationships based on trust, credibility, and certainty, improving tax services, offering additional facilities, and building trust with investors. Madbouly confirmed that this package is being discussed during today's Cabinet meeting.

In another context, Madbouly congratulated Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Wazir on Egypt's successful election to the General Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The election was accompanied by international praise for Egypt's growing role in supporting global maritime transport systems. The premier also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in London for their significant efforts in this regard, considering this achievement as a testament to Egypt's growing leadership and influence in international forums, boosting international confidence in its capabilities and the results of its continuous efforts for development in various fields.

On the sporting achievements front, the prime minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian Karate National Team on the historic achievement of Egypt topping the world ranking in the World Karate Championships recently hosted by Egypt. He emphasized the state's commitment to supporting athletes in diverse sports, to reflect Egypt's global stature and leadership.

During the meeting, Madbouly also reviewed the most prominent recent government activities aimed at boosting development efforts across various sectors. He highlighted the signing of a contract to establish an integrated phosphate chemical industries complex in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in "Sokhna 360." This, he said, represents a new step in the ongoing effort to enhance trust among global partners and attract investments in priority industrial sectors, aiming to strengthen national production capacities, increase job opportunities, and boost Egyptian exports.
