PM Inaugurates Two Upgraded Drug Production Facilities in Qalyubia

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli opened two newly upgraded pharmaceutical factories in Qalyubia, including a factory for producing active drug ingredients and another for disinfectants. Both facilities are part of El Nasr Pharmaceutical Chemicals Company, which operates under the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals (Holdipharma).

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the visit, Madbouli was accompanied by several senior officials, including Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Industry and Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir, Public Business Sector Minister Mohamed Shimi, Qalyubia Governor Ayman Attia, and officials from the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Unified Procurement Authority.

During the visit, the Premier first visited the raw material factory, where production includes aspirin, paracetamol, metformin, and mineral salts. He then visited the disinfectants plant, which underwent a full upgrade from December 2024 to September 2025 at a cost of EGP 15 million. The facility now has an annual production capacity of 4 million bottles of disinfectant, helping to meet local market needs.
