Sokhna: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday, September 6, 2026, inaugurated the first phase of the Designy Doors factory, which specializes in manufacturing wooden and WPC doors, finishing products, floor accessories, and wood-alternative wall cladding, at the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, affiliated with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).

According to State Information Service Egypt, the first phase includes production facilities covering 15,000 square meters, with investments of $12 million. The project as a whole spans 35,000 square meters, with targeted total investments of $20 million, and is expected to create around 250 jobs. The factory is expected to produce 120,000 wooden doors and 168,000 WPC doors, in addition to 4 million linear meters of accessories and finishing products. The output will meet domestic market needs, with part of production earmarked for export, contributing to higher exports and reduced reliance on imports.

Madbouly mentioned that the state encourages investments based on modern manufacturing technologies capable of producing competitive products, particularly industrial investments in the finishing and building materials sector. This sector is experiencing growth driven by urban and development projects nationwide. He emphasized the need to strengthen domestic production capacity and provide quality products to reduce reliance on imports while expanding exports and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in foreign markets.

SCZONE Chairman Mostafa Shikhon highlighted that the factory represents a successful investment model evolving from commercial and manufacturing expertise into an advanced production base within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. He noted that the project reflects the diversity of the zone's industrial base and adds value to the real estate development and construction sectors by introducing a finished-product industry based on modern design and technology, while enhancing access to regional and international markets.

During his tour, Madbouly inspected the various stages of production, focusing on the wood and plastic sections, as well as preparation, cutting, pressing, assembly, and packaging processes through to the final product. Factory Chairman Abdo Eid reiterated that the project spans 35,000 square meters, with targeted total investments of $20 million, and provides around 250 jobs.
