PM: Government Aims to Improve Quality of Services Nationwide

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday May 14, 2026, affirmed the government's continued efforts across governorates to improve the quality of services provided to citizens, enhance infrastructure efficiency, and support economic and social development projects. This announcement was made during a meeting focused on the status of development and service projects in Beheira Governorate, attended by Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad and Beheira Governor Jacqueline Azer.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly emphasized the importance of adhering to timelines for ongoing projects and maintaining regular monitoring of implementation rates, particularly in vital sectors such as health, education, roads, drinking water, and sanitation. He highlighted the need to support productive projects and create job opportunities for residents of the governorate.

Awad affirmed the ministry's commitment to regular follow-up on the implementation of development and service projects in Beheira to ensure their timely completion and to address any obstacles in the execution process. Azer provided an overview of the governorate's investment plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, which includes 242 projects with a 73 percent implementation rate across various sectors.

The governor also discussed rationalization measures, noting directives to reduce gasoline consumption by 30 percent and electricity usage by 15 percent. A committee led by the internal audit and governance department has been formed to monitor these implementations. Efforts to maximize investment returns from current projects and identify available investment opportunities were also highlighted.

Azer mentioned the 'Decent Life' rural development initiative, where Beheira's share includes 3,915 projects across six districts, benefiting approximately 3.7 million citizens with advanced implementation rates. Additionally, she presented a plan to transform Rashid city into a global tourist destination, focusing on heritage preservation and sustainable development.

The ongoing process of building reconciliation applications has reached over 90 percent completion by the first week of May 2026, Azer noted, showcasing significant progress in administrative efforts within the governorate.
