Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Monday, October 6, 2025, that Egypt's economic performance indicators continue to show positive trends, as confirmed by international institutions, adding that further improvement is expected in the coming period along with more positive announcements. The premier stressed that the key priority is ensuring that citizens tangibly feel the impact of these positive developments. Madbouli made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Macroeconomic Advisory Committee at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting discussed key macroeconomic issues and mechanisms to improve living standards in light of Egypt's recent economic gains. The prime minister affirmed his keenness to hold regular meetings with the committee to review macroeconomic performance and assess the progress of economic reforms, saying he was open to hearing all views on how to further strengthen Egypt's macroeconomic framework in the coming phase.
Committee members, for their part, said Egypt's economy continues to post positive indicators, referring to recent reports issued by Fitch Ratings in August, which confirmed that the economy is moving gradually toward recovery after years of global and domestic pressures. They cited Fitch's forecasts that inflation would ease to 14 percent by the end of 2025 and further decline to 10 percent in 2026, a significant improvement that would allow greater scope for monetary easing.
The reports also highlighted that Egypt's policy framework aims to balance economic reform with social stability, acknowledging the government's efforts to achieve that equilibrium, while noting that external debt levels are trending downward. According to the committee, Fitch expects Egypt's economy to maintain its positive momentum in the coming years, barring major external shocks. They noted that the industrial sector has witnessed a tangible leap forward, though more work is needed to expand its contribution to GDP.
The meeting also discussed key themes outlined in Egypt's National Economic Narrative, which members described as ambitious and aligned with key reference frameworks such as Egypt Vision 2030, the government's action program, the State Ownership Policy Document, and the National Structural Reform Program, among other strategies and initiatives. Participants further emphasized the importance of translating macroeconomic progress into real improvements in citizens' daily lives, underscoring the need for continued analysis to identify effective mechanisms that ensure tangible social impact.
