PM Directs Urgent Measures After Regional Ring Road Accident

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has taken decisive steps to ensure the swift implementation of presidential directives following a tragic accident on the Regional Ring Road. The Prime Minister instructed relevant authorities to complete all necessary repair and maintenance work within specific, binding deadlines, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and security protocols.

According to State Information Service Egypt, these directives were issued during a follow-up meeting chaired by Madbouli to oversee the implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's orders. The focus is on compensating the victims' families and expediting the development and repair works on the road, with a particular emphasis on traffic safety.

Madbouli emphasized the importance of separating private vehicles from heavy transport trucks in areas undergoing repairs and upgrades. He also urged an increase in traffic patrols, the installation of more speed cameras and surveillance systems, and the strict enforcement of traffic regulations, especially targeting violations by truck drivers.

Further measures include regular and surprise drug tests for truckers, especially on highways, conducted at short intervals. Madbouli also instructed the ministers of education and higher education to grant full tuition fee exemptions to the families of the 19 young female victims who lost their lives in the accident.

Additionally, the Prime Minister directed the minister of social solidarity to provide exceptional pensions to the grieving families. He also tasked the governor of Menoufia with naming public buildings and streets in the victims' hometown of Kafr Al-Sanabsa after the 19 young women, ensuring their memory is honored.
