Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly chaired a meeting of the Governors Council on Monday, September 14, 2026, to discuss a number of key issues, including efforts to curb encroachments on agricultural land. Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad and several governors took part in person, while others joined via videoconference.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting also addressed governorates' preparations for the new academic year, along with a number of issues related to improving the level of services provided to citizens.
