Cairo: Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania el Mashat, held discussions with the Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Egypt and Algeria's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance joint cooperation and reviewed preparations for the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee, scheduled to be held this November. Additionally, they discussed the convening of the Business Forum for the private sector from both countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions included arrangements for the upcoming session of the Committee, aiming to build upon the achievements since the last eighth session held in Algeria in mid-2022. The previous session saw the signing of several cooperation documents and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in various development fields.
In a related context, both parties explored preparations for the Business Forum, set to take place during the joint committee's activities. This forum is deemed crucial for enhancing joint investments and facilitating discussions between the private sectors from both nations.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat highlighted the extensive expertise of the Egyptian private sector. This is evidenced by the presence of many Egyptian companies operating in Algeria, particularly in the fields of construction, contracting, and petroleum services.
