Petroleum Ministry: Production of 60 Mn Cubic Feet Per Day from New Well in Zohr Field Begins

Cairo: The offshore drilling rig Saipem 10000 has successfully completed the sidetrack drilling operation of the 'Zohr-6' well, adding approximately 60 million cubic feet per day of natural gas to current production rates.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this development marks a significant increase in the production capacity of the Zohr gas field. The Zohr field, a major natural gas field in the Mediterranean Sea, continues to play a crucial role in enhancing the energy output and meeting the gas demands of the region.

The completion of the 'Zohr-6' well sidetrack operation is part of ongoing efforts to boost production from the Zohr field, which remains a pivotal asset in the country's energy sector. The efforts align with the strategic goals of maximizing resource extraction from existing fields to meet both domestic and international energy needs.
