Amman: The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) has announced its recent acquisition of a $22.7 million contract to establish a critical gas pipeline connecting Jordan's Al-Muwaqqar Industrial Development Zone, situated south of Amman, to the existing natural gas network. This strategic development was revealed by Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on Thursday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the project encompasses the comprehensive design, procurement, and construction of a 22-kilometer natural gas pipeline that will seamlessly integrate the industrial zone with the Arab Gas Pipeline. Petrojet is tasked with the construction of essential infrastructure components, including gas pressure reduction and metering stations, as well as the establishment of sending and receiving facilities.

The formal agreement was signed by Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and Petrojet Chairman Waleed Lotfy. This significant project, commissioned by Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, is slated for completion within an 18-month timeframe. Petrojet will collaborate with Ahmad Yousef Al-Tarawneh Company, a prominent Jordanian contractor, to execute the project.

The Ministry emphasized that this contract aligns with its strategic initiatives to broaden the operational horizons of Egyptian petroleum enterprises beyond national borders, thereby enhancing their involvement in international energy and infrastructure projects. Furthermore, the agreement signifies a pivotal expansion of Petrojet's operational footprint outside Egypt, reinforcing the ongoing energy collaboration between Egypt and Jordan.
