Cairo: Petrochemicals Holding Company has reported revenues of 2.6 billion dollars for the fiscal year 2025/2026. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi emphasized the notable growth in petrochemical production and the sector's success in penetrating new international export markets. Badawi has directed the preparation of a five-year strategy aimed at boosting oil and natural gas production.According to State Information Service Egypt, Badawi made these statements during a meeting of the General Assembly of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) to approve the company's annual results. In a statement issued by the Ministry, Badawi highlighted the importance of enhancing Egypt's position as a regional hub for gas trading, citing the project to connect gas fields in Cyprus to Egypt's infrastructure. He also commended the company's efforts in advancing strategic projects designed to localize the production of new products and secure necessary financing.ECHEM Chairman Alaa El-Di n Abdel Fattah reviewed the company's performance, reporting a total production of approximately 4.6 million tons of petrochemical products. Strong export performance contributed to 1.8 billion dollars in revenues, with products being exported to 50 countries and new markets opened in Spain, Brazil, Cyprus, Romania, and Slovenia. Domestic sales reached 742 million dollars, and the value added from gas and petroleum derivatives was approximately 1.6 billion dollars.Abdel Fattah stated that ECHEM is proceeding with its 2026-2030 five-year plan, which includes eight strategic projects targeting the production and localization of 20 new products. These projects aim for a combined annual production capacity of 6.5 million tons. The initiatives are expected to attract 10 billion dollars in investments and generate projected annual revenues of up to 7 billion dollars.
