Cairo: Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy Gebaly expressed deep appreciation for the unique and historical ties between Egypt and China, praising the positive momentum witnessed in their relations. He also voiced Egypt's confidence in China's ongoing path of development and reform.According to State Information Service Egypt, Gebaly's remarks came during an official meeting at the parliament headquarters with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, currently visiting Egypt leading a high-level delegation. During the meeting, Gebaly highlighted the importance of joint development projects between the two nations, topped by the participation of Chinese companies in constructing the Central Business District in Egypt's New Administrative Capital, as well as Chinese investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.Gebaly reaffirmed Egypt's firm support for the One-China Policy, emphasizing the importance of respecting China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also praised the o ngoing mutual support and coordination between Cairo and Beijing on regional and international issues.For his part, Li commended the role of the Egyptian parliament in promoting and advancing Chinese-Egyptian ties. Li asserted that the Chinese-Egyptian relationship is based on cooperation, mutual respect, and common support. He pointed to the growing importance of economic integration between the two countries, particularly under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative as well as through platforms such as the China-Arab and China-Africa Cooperation Forums.
