Palestinian Minister Engages British Consul on Gaza Reconstruction

Ramallah: The Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing, Ahed Bseiso, held discussions with the British Consul General in Jerusalem, Helen Winterton, focusing on cooperative efforts for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. The meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters, explored potential infrastructure and housing projects.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Zuqan Atawneh, and Director of Program and Grant Coordination, Sajida Ghanem. Minister Bseiso presented the ministry's reconstruction plan, aligning with the government's recovery strategy and the Egyptian-Arab initiative. The ministry's plan prioritizes five key areas: damage assessment, rubble removal, housing, roads, and public buildings. Bseiso also outlined the strategic projects within the roads, public buildings, and housing sectors.

Consul General Winterton conveyed the UK's interest in bolstering cooperation with Palestine. She emphasized the need for ongoing coordination, follow-up, and the identification of future cooperative opportunities.
