Palestinian and French Embassies in Egypt Launch Screening of “Inside Gaza” Documentary

Cairo: The Palestinian and French embassies in the Arab Republic of Egypt inaugurated the screening of the documentary film "Inside Gaza" about the occupation's violations against journalists. This event took place at the French Institute in Cairo.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the screening was attended by French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier, Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of the State of Palestine Naji Al-Naji, Media Officer for Cultural Affairs Salsabeel Bseiso, Director of the Office French agency Sophie Younes, and her team manager in the Gaza Strip, Adel Al-Zanoun. The audience also included a large number of journalists, filmmakers, and Palestinian cinema enthusiasts.

The documentary, produced by Palestinian journalists working for Agence France-Presse, documents their lives during the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in the early months of the conflict. The film recounts details of their personal lives, professional experiences, and the war's repercussions on them, their families, and their professional futures. Director Elaine Lam Trong relied almost exclusively on agency footage, most of which was filmed by the journalists themselves. The focus was on highlighting the challenges faced by Palestinian journalists in conveying the truth.

The French ambassador expressed his appreciation for the efforts of journalists in Palestine and their coverage of the war under dangerous circumstances, defending the right to expression and conveying the reality of the situation.

The event also featured discussions with the audience about the humanitarian messages conveyed in the film, behind-the-scenes details of the filming process, memories of the war days, and the enduring hope of the Palestinian people despite the challenges and wars they face.
